Net Neutrality Cards takes the concept of digital rights and net neutrality and visually represents the elements that make up these concepts into a Loteria inspired card game. The elements that are featured in the game are people, certain internet rules, and internet actions that can relate back to net neutrality. Twenty-one cards were designed to visually represent each net neutrality element. On the back of each card is a question for the participants to answer and reflect on how each net neutrality element affects their digital lives. On the bottom of the question is a brief summary of what each element is. Each card was printed double sided and cut out.
Research on the Digital Divide
Each card and net neutrality element was transformed into a Loteria inspired image. For example, card number 1 was inspired by the card, "El mMundo" in the Loteria deck. In this version, it is a man in a suite carrying internet icon. Another example is card number 8 which is inspired from the card,"La Arana" in the Loteria deck. Here you see the card being more playful and using the spiders body to resemble the internet icon that is on a web, or the world wide web in this case.
Printing the Cards
Each card was printed double sided and cut out with an exacto knife. On the back of each card is a question that participants can answer.
