The challenge was to design a site that is intended for a museum. The theme of the museum is a children’s discovery museum. The target audience for the site are parents looking for new ways to bond with their children. The parents also want activities for their children that are fun and educational to keep them from doingactivities that can lead to trouble.
User Interface Design
User Experience Design
The user persona is based on a working mother who wants to spend more time with her children. Using this persona, design was used to think of a website that could easily communicate with the user on different activities available that parents could do with their children.
Final Website Design
The design of the website is intended to be fun and friendly to create a welcoming feeling. The round san serif typeface gives off a playful vibe. The color orange creates a warm and exciting feeling while the blue gives off a calm and responsible one. These colors reflect the environment of the museum, though the children might be excited to learn and do activities, parents don’t have to worry about things being chaotic.
The images of children doing activities show parents what type of activities they can expect their children to do. Sections in the website are their to show information that encourage parents to visit the museum and become a member.
This site features a navigation bar to help users with locating specific content. A member login is at the top of the page to quickly login or create an account. The input prompts in the member login area are there to help tell the user what to do. Social media buttons are in the footer to help stay connected on various social platforms.
